Kwacha anyone?!?
The exchange rate was 4,400 Zambian Kwacha per 1 US Dollar. This photo is of a stack of Zambian 10,000 Kwacha notes (the largest denomination in circulation) worth 300 US Dollars. I was a millionaire (that's 1.32 million Kwacha). As a Kenyan friend pointed out: "I am sure you realize how nice Africa is if one has millions of Kwacha and how terrifying it is otherwise." Indeed: this stack of Kwacha is significantly more than the majority of Zambians will ever see in a year (or several).
